Chapter 6 · AI & Holistic Management

Getting Started

The real path in. It is clunky at first. That's normal, and it's worth it.

Start with what you already do that takes time

Don't try to invent new things with AI. Look at the time-consuming tasks already on your plate — the bookkeeping, the transcribing, the formatting of spreadsheets, the creation of branded documents from your content. That's where the tool earns its keep, and where you'll learn fastest.

The 30-day challenge

  • Commit to 30 days of reaching for an AI tool on every problem where it might help.
  • In practice: it's frustrating, clunky, and often 5× slower at first.
  • The payoff: a dramatic increase in long-term effectiveness once you've learned where and how to apply it.
The point

The first weeks are an investment, not a demo. You're not trying to be impressed — you're building the judgment to know when the tool fits and when it doesn't. That judgment is the actual skill.
